Calorie Smart AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”), operated by Vertex Pointe, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Service”). We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party ads in the app. Your health information stays yours.

Apple Health data you choose to share (for example steps, sleep, workouts, and active energy)
Android Health Connect data you choose to share (currently steps and sleep for calorie and recovery insights)
Camera, microphone, photo library, and notification permissions when you enable those features

Usage data (features used, crash reports) to improve the Service
Subscription and purchase status via our payment providers

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and improve calorie tracking, AI food recognition, and related features
Process meal logs, photos, and voice input to deliver nutrition estimates
Sync with Apple Health or Health Connect when you authorize it
Personalize goals, insights, and recommendations
Manage your account and subscription
Respond to support requests

Analyze usage patterns in aggregated or anonymized form to improve the app

We do not sell your personal or health data. We do not use Health Connect or Apple Health data for advertising.

4. Health Data

Health-related information (meal logs, body metrics you enter, and optional device health sync) is used only to operate features you request, such as daily calorie targets, activity context, and sleep insights. You can revoke health permissions at any time in your device settings; we will stop syncing new health data after revocation.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service:

Apple / Google: App distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and platform health integrations. Their privacy policies apply to data they process.
Food and nutrition APIs: To look up calorie and nutrition data (for example barcode scans). Only the minimum data needed is sent.
AI / ML services: To recognize food from photos and process voice input for meal logging.
Hosting and infrastructure: To store and process your data securely.
Analytics / attribution (where enabled): Limited device or campaign data to measure app performance, subject to your platform consent settings (for example App Tracking Transparency on iOS).

These providers are bound by agreements to protect your data and use it only as needed to provide the Service.

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard safeguards. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest where applicable. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate the Service. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal or operational purposes.

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We take steps to ensure your data receives adequate protection in accordance with applicable laws.
